The carriage of an art work, whether on a National or European level and, whether it be a painting, a statue, a historical artefact or a complete service for a show, must always be planned with great care and attention to detail, starting with the preliminary agreements with the lender and the receiver regarding collection and delivery times, the types and methods of packing to be used, proceeding with the types of vehicles and equipment to be employed and, finally, agreeing on an “all-inclusive” risk insurance policy.

Traslochi F.lli & C.’s small in-house carpentry department allows us to design and build custom-made wooden crates, which can be padded and fire-proofed, and the strength of which can vary according to the art piece to be carried or the mode of transport. These crates will be padded internally using the most suitable materials to ensure maximum and total protection of the art piece contained therein.

For art works that are particularly sensitive to temperature fluctuations and or humidity we can, using data loggers, provide a report of the temperatures and levels of humidity to which the piece was exposed during the entire period of carriage. Road freight will be carried out using isothermal / insulated vehicles. We can also insert vibration sensors inside the crates to guarantee that the service is carried out with care.

The continuous control of quality parameters according to our standards, the constant monitoring of our staff’s operations as well as the ongoing information and training courses with which we provide our staff has allowed us to become known as a qualified and specialised Company for the transport of art works and pieces.
